We are keen to sign up a selection of “b-bug friendly” destinations around the National Park (e.g. pubs, cafes, restaurants, attractions or activity providers) where b-bug users know they are welcome to re-charge both themselves and their b-bug for a stop over of an hour or more. All b-bug users will be given a special travel guide advertising these ‘b-bug friendly’ destinations and the routes and mileages involved.
To be a b-bug destination, you need to be able to offer an off-road parking space within extension cable reach of a 13 amp plug. (The b-bugs carry the extension cable). We will provide you a b-bug welcome sticker and an entry in the b-bug guide.
It is your choice whether or not you charge b-bug users for this service. A full re-charge (taking 6 hours) would cost you around 40p of electricity but most b-buggers will probably just grab a top up charge of an hour or two to get them home costing you 20p at most.
This is a chance to be a pioneer in exploring lightweight electric charging networks of the future.
Please get in touch with Peter Williams and Alison Kidd at alison@prospectory.co.uk or 01874 665401 if you would like to explore this opportunity to participate in the trial.
